You're probably wondering why I chose the name "piffy," it came about as a misunderstanding actually...When I was still in Singapore, a good friend of mine gave me some real buttery and delicious pineapple tarts...so good that 1 container was just not enough. So..I acquired this bakers digits and I'm pretty sure I said "Tiffy"...well anyway, I received them a few days later and "Piffy" was written on a post-it. So..the name stuck and piffy was born.....
Well... The name's Tiffanie folks. I left my home of Singapore to pursue my love for the culinary arts. Now 8 months later I've graduated and working at the Michelin starred Anissa in Greenwich Village. I love new-american food, but I keep going back to my Asian roots and nothing really beats that! Ever since I can remember...food has always been a big part of my life. Now that I have more free time when I'm not working...I've composed a blog to share with you everything and anything that I can't live without.

Here's how it all began...
To be honest...my passion for cooking came from watching Jamie Oliver videos. There was something about the simplicity of it all that struck me, and I mimicked everything he did. Although Jamie isn't a big part of my pre-teen life anymore, I give him props for lighting a fire in my soul. But honestly it's always and truly has been about Gordon Ramsay all along (god he's so sexy when he's screaming bloody murder). Anyway...I was a self-taught cook at 11 and I'm glad no one stopped me.
If you give me a recipe...I wouldn't know how to follow it. I just can't do it! All the precise measuring, 1 cup this 2 Tbs that...omg just shoot me already. I'm able to watch what they put in, see the finished product, taste it and I can most probably re-create it for you. In my family I'm known for whipping out dishes from whatever produce we have in the kitchen and pantry. I think people are scared to create some crap and waste something that could have been potentially great.
All I can say is... just let your taste buds do the work, and the rest will follow through.
